Happy New Year !
You can’t imagine how Blessed I am or how honored I feel to have been asked to be the 2025 Community Lay Director for Eastern Shore Emmaus.
My name is Wanda Ward. I walked on ES 25, Holy Ground as we all know Camp OOTB is Holy Ground. My mother Mary Killmon was my sponsor. After my walk she and I became very involved with Chrysalis, the teen version of Emmaus.
My walk with Christ has grown immensely during my 4th day. My husband Gordon and I are very involved with Emmaus and enjoy whatever God calls us to do for Emmaus and our Church.
I believe God created each of us for a purpose, to love Him and to spread His word.
Ephesians 2:10 says We are God’s handiwork (work of art; masterpiece)
He alone masterminds our salvation. He works powerfully and creatively in us. He uses us as His canvas. If God considers us His masterpiece, we dare not treat ourselves or others with disrespect or as inferior work.
All of my life I have gone where I felt God leading me, but this is about as far out of my comfort zone as He has ever led me.
I ask for your prayers, to be a good leader and to help Emmaus and the Board to accomplish God’s Will. He has been asking me to do more , well here we are. I am asking each of you to step out of your comfort zones, become more involved with Emmaus, Chrysalis and your own Churches. Just stand up for Jesus in whatever way you can. This is all that He ask. Believe in Him and follow Him. Do Something!!
De Colores,
Wanda Ward
